Job Summary
Coordinate the middle school boys basketball team in compliance with MSHSAA standards, assisting in program implementation, scheduling, and game management. Supervise student-athletes at practices and contests while emphasizing safety, injury management, and ethical sportsmanship. Organize practice sessions to develop student-athlete potential and ensure systematic return of school equipment. Provide information regarding transportation, facilities, and officials. Complete required MSHSAA/NFHS Coaching Principles and Sports First Aid courses, plus 8 hours of professional development. This seasonal role supports the Athletic Department's goal of promoting student-athlete growth and program excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of particular sport (philosophy & coaching)
- Must successfully complete the MSHSAA /NFHS Coaching Principles Course and Sports First Aid Courses
- A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept and working knowledge of all collegiate eligibility center regulations
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, fingers, reach with hands and fingers
- Must be able to bend, stoop, lift objects of at least 25 pounds
- Must successfully complete the MSHSAA/NFHS Coaching Principles Course and Sports First Aid Courses
- Must fulfill 8 contact hours of professional development
