Job Summary
Medicine Clerk / Lunchroom Monitor provides student care by administering medications per physician orders, monitoring student health, responding to emergencies, maintaining health records, and coordinating with the CCS Health Services department and school nurses. Tasks include organizing and administering prescribed medications, handling health documentation, monitoring student well-being (including blood sugar), coordinating with parents and staff, and maintaining health-room operations. The role also includes operating and driving a school bus as needed, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintaining bus schedules. Requires CDL bus license and the ability to drive when called upon, along with basic clerical duties and strong interpersonal skills to work with students and school personnel.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- CDL Bus license
- Ability to operate a bus and perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections
- Basic typing (35 wpm)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, databases)
- Effective communication with students, parents, and staff
- Must obtain and maintain CDL Bus license
Additional Requirements
- Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required
- North Carolina Driver's License required
- Possess or obtain Commercial Driver's License as needed for duties
