Job Summary
Administer ordered medications, monitor student side effects, and perform routine first aid for ill or injured students while maintaining medical documents and certifications. Input health data accurately, organize medications and first aid kits for field trips, and order supplies to maintain stock. Monitor students during meal service, ensure proper seating, handle tray security, and maintain cafeteria cleanliness and discipline. Drive a school bus when called upon, completing pre- and post-trip inspections, maintaining route schedules, and transporting authorized students at designated stops. Report delays, accidents, and unruly behavior to school administration. Obtain and maintain a CDL bus license and a valid North Carolina driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Minimum typing skills of 35 wpm
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (word processing, spreadsheet, and database)
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Must obtain and maintain a CDL Bus license
- Must obtain and maintain a CDL Bus license
- Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License
- Applicants must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) when requested for purposes of driving a school bus
- Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders
- Must be able to communicate effectively in oral and written form regarding health matters
- Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion
- Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required
