Medicine Clerk duties include providing student care, administering ordered medications to students, assisting and monitoring treatments, responding to emergencies, maintaining student medical documents, and maintaining certifications. Responsibilities also cover inputting student health data, organizing medications and first aid supplies for field trips under supervision, monitoring for side effects, notifying parents and staff as needed, performing routine first aid, communicating with school and district personnel, and collaborating with the school nurse. The role requires CDL bus licensing and driving duties when called upon, pre-trip and post-trip bus inspections, maintaining bus route schedules, safety compliance, and contributing to a team-focused, quality-improvement culture.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- Minimum typing skills 35 wpm
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (word processing, spreadsheet, database)
- Must obtain and maintain a CDL Bus license and drive a bus when called upon to do so
Additional Requirements
- Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required
- Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License
- Applicants must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) when requested for purposes of driving a school bus.
