Job Summary
Conduct daily lunch program monitoring to ensure every student receives a reimbursable meal while maintaining strict food compliance measures. Assist with inventory receiving, organizing food deliveries, and scanning student IDs for after-school snacks and supper meals. Enter all afterschool transactions into the Point-of-Sale system before shift end and substitute as servers when needed. Record student ID numbers electronically or manually for counting and claiming, and perform cleaning, sanitizing, and dishwashing duties as required. Support meal deliveries to various locations and assist with nutrition education awareness events and participation incentive activities. This 10-month, part-time role begins August 2026 at West Elementary in Houston, Texas, with a salary of $14/hour plus benefits.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in food service
- Ability to work outside of normal hours and evenings as needed
- Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools
- Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
- Ability to work urgently in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment

Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Food Service Handler or Manager Certification
- CPR Certification
