Job Summary
The Instructional Coach works as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning through individual and group professional development. Responsibilities include analyzing student, class, and district data to help teachers make informed instructional decisions; collaborating to prepare lesson plans aligned with district pacing guides; modeling and leading the implementation of high-quality instruction; maintaining confidential, collegial relationships with district staff to foster collaborative problem solving; guiding teachers and students in setting and pursuing professional development goals; facilitating coaching conversations; leading ongoing job-embedded professional development (staff meetings, study groups, demonstration lessons, trainings, seminars); maintaining records to evaluate coaching effectiveness; preparing resources to demonstrate best practices in instruction; and spending ~75% of the day in classrooms to build teacher instructional capacity, including support for language learners and students with disabilities. The role requires collaboration with colleagues to ensure implementation of pacing guides, rubrics, assessments, and high-leverage instructional practices, and participation in coaching development under the Teaching and Learning department.
Required Qualifications
