Job Summary
Special Education Elementary Teacher at Horace Greeley High School in the Chappaqua Central School District. Responsibilities include administering, scoring, and interpreting standardized educational evaluations to determine eligibility; developing IEPs and implementing student-specific goals with data-driven progress monitoring; supporting students and staff with academic goals and behavior management plans; creating modifications and accommodations for students with disabilities in general education settings; applying data analysis to inform action plans; applying NYS standards and research-informed instructional practices; employing instructional models such as consultant teacher services, resource room, integrated co-teaching, and skills class; serving as a resource to students and families to promote growth, emotional well-being, and belonging; fostering a welcoming classroom environment; using formative assessments to gauge understanding; knowledge of social-emotional learning strategies (RULER preferred); planning lessons with consideration of student performance and diverse perspectives; active participation in collaborative professional development and team-based efficacy.
Required Qualifications
- New York State Certification as a Special Education Teacher (Gr. 7-12)
- Experience with reading and writing workshop models of instruction

- Knowledge of NYS standards and federal/state laws regarding education and students
