Job Summary
Lead the East High School track and field program by competing in a full varsity schedule, supervising practices and contests, and managing equipment inventory. Implement MSHSAA standards, establish season performance goals, and evaluate athlete progress while promoting student-athletes academically and athletically. Coordinate staff development, handle fundraising and promotion, and provide contest statistics to district media. Fulfill 8 hours of professional development, complete required coaching and first aid courses, and maintain records of team accomplishments for the Athletic Director.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a four-year college degree
- Contracted by the KCMSD Board of Education for the school year as a full or part time teacher
- 1-3 years of coaching experience
- Knowledge of particular sport (philosophy & coaching)
- Must successfully complete the MSHSAA/NFHS Coaching Principles Course
- Must successfully complete Sports First Aid Courses
- A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept
- Working knowledge of all collegiate eligibility center regulations
