Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines while accommodating individual student differences. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing to inform instructional strategies. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and create a classroom environment conducive to physical, social, and emotional development. Direct instructional aides and volunteers, compile required reports and records, and establish open communication with parents and community members. Assume responsibility for assigned extracurricular activities and serve as a positive role model supporting the school district's mission.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Current automated external defibrillator (AED) certificate
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- One year student teaching or approved internship
