26-27 English as a Second Language Specialist (2026-2027 School Year) (ESL)

Temporary ESL Specialist for the 2026-2027 School Year in Somerville Public Schools. Responsibilities include planning units and lessons aligned to state standards, delivering differentiated instruction, conducting ongoing formative and summative assessments, analyzing data to determine student learning needs, adapting curriculum to varied learning strengths, and maintaining culturally responsive two-way communication with families. Collaborates with educators to provide specialized instruction and SEL support; adheres to district guidance to maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment; engages in professional growth and implements new instructional methodologies; performs additional duties as assigned by the Principal/Supervisor under the SEU collective bargaining agreement. Qualifications include the appropriate licensed educator credential and DESE SEI endorsement; bilingual preferred. Pre-employment CORI clearance and background checks required.
