Job Summary

Manage exceptional children's case files by coordinating referrals, evaluations, and IEP meetings while ensuring strict adherence to the 90-day timeline and regulatory compliance. Perform data management duties including timely entries, maintaining accurate headcount rosters, and verifying all paperwork in CECAS before closing cases. Serve as the primary contact for EC referrals, interpret parent rights, and mediate concerns, while collaborating with school psychologists, related service personnel, and administrators to monitor case progress. Conduct staff development on procedures and guidelines, and maintain IEP logs and quarterly progress reports. This role requires a current NC Teaching License in Special Education and experience with special education law.

Required Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree from accredited institution
  • License in area of Special Education
  • Three or more years experience as an EC teacher (preferred)
  • Specialized training in compliance, regulations, and special education law
  • Writing and speaking skills
  • Understanding of instructional implications of test data
  • Exemplary leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Exemplary organizational skills
  • Computer/typing skills
  • Legible copy of official transcripts for all degree levels
  • Copy of current NC Teaching License in the EC area (License cannot be Initial or Residency)
  • Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies

Desired Qualifications

  • Three or more years experience as an EC teacher (preferred)
