Job Summary
Manage exceptional children case files by coordinating referrals, scheduling IEP meetings, and ensuring strict adherence to the 90-day evaluation timeline. Perform comprehensive data management duties including timely entries in CECAS, maintaining accurate headcount rosters, and conducting final compliance checks on all paperwork. Serve as the primary liaison for parent concerns, interpret rights, and collaborate with school psychologists, related service personnel, and administrators to monitor case progress. Facilitate initial referrals, reevaluations, and manifestation determination meetings while maintaining detailed logs and quarterly progress reports. Conduct staff development on procedures and guidelines, attend required training, and serve as a role model for organizational core values.
Required Qualifications
- BS/BA degree from accredited institution
- License in area of Special Education
- Three or more years experience as an EC teacher (preferred)
- Specialized training in compliance, regulations, and special education law
- Writing and speaking skills
- Understanding of instructional implications of test data
- Exemplary leadership and interpersonal skills
- Exemplary organizational skills
- Computer/typing skills
- Legible copy of official transcripts for all degree levels
- Copy of current NC Teaching License in the EC area (License cannot be Initial or Residency)
- Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies
