Job Summary

Manage exceptional children referrals and coordinate evaluations with school psychologists, related service personnel, and outside agencies to adhere to the 90-day timeline. Complete data management responsibilities by entering information into CECAS, maintaining IEP logs, and ensuring quarterly progress reports are attached and distributed. Schedule and facilitate all IEP meetings including eligibility determinations, annual reviews, and manifestation determinations, while monitoring compliance with due process requirements. Serve as a liaison to interpret parent rights, mediate concerns, and collaborate with administrators and compliance monitors to resolve procedural issues. Maintain accurate headcount rosters and conduct staff development on procedures and guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree from accredited institution
  • License in area of Special Education
  • Three or more years experience as an EC teacher (preferred)
  • Specialized training in compliance, regulations, and special education law
  • Writing and speaking skills
  • Understanding of instructional implications of test data
  • Exemplary leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Exemplary organizational skills
  • Computer/typing skills
  • Legible copy of official transcripts for all degree levels
  • Copy of current NC Teaching License in the EC area (License cannot be Initial or Residency)
  • Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies

Desired Qualifications

  • Three or more years experience as an EC teacher (preferred)
