Job Summary

Manage exceptional children's cases by serving as the primary contact for referrals, ensuring compliance with the 90-day timeline, and coordinating evaluations with school psychologists and related service personnel. Perform data management duties including timely entries, maintaining accurate headcount rosters, and monitoring IEP logs for all meeting types such as eligibility determinations, annual reviews, and manifestation determinations. Facilitate IEP meetings, draft compliance checks, and distribute quarterly progress reports to families while acting as a liaison to interpret parent rights and mediate concerns. Collaborate with principals, specialists, and EC Compliance Monitors to ensure procedural adherence and conduct staff development on guidelines. Maintain accurate records in CECAS and attend designated training activities.

Required Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree from accredited institution
  • License in area of Special Education
  • Three or more years experience as an EC teacher (preferred)
  • Specialized training in compliance, regulations, and special education law
  • Writing and speaking skills
  • Understanding of instructional implications of test data
  • Exemplary leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Exemplary organizational skills
  • Computer/typing skills
  • Legible copy of official transcripts for all degree levels
  • Copy of current NC Teaching License in the EC area (License cannot be Initial or Residency)
  • Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies

Desired Qualifications

  • Three or more years experience as an EC teacher (preferred)
