Job Summary
Assist the teacher with planning, organizing, and evaluating instructional activities while developing classroom procedures and preparing necessary materials. Support students in increasing confidence, self-esteem, and independence, attending to their physical and personal care needs, including feeding, hygiene, and transfers. Help students who have difficulty communicating and facilitate participation in social activities throughout the school program. Serve as a positive role model, maintain confidentiality, and participate in required staff development. Perform physical tasks such as walking, climbing stairs, and lifting students, and provide CPR/First Aid when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 24+ college level semester hours completed
- The approved Work Keys Assessments
- Meets minimum qualifications established by the Cumberland County Board of Education
- A college transcript showing a degree was earned
- A college transcript showing at least 48 or more college level courses completed
- A college transcript showing at least 24 or more college level courses completed plus Work Keys Assessments with passing scores in Workplace Documents (Reading) with a score of 4 or better
- A college transcript showing at least 24 or more college level courses completed plus Work Keys Assessments with passing scores in Business Writing with a score of 3 or better
- A college transcript showing at least 24 or more college level courses completed plus Work Keys Assessments with passing scores in Applied Mathematics with a score of 4 or better
- Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies
