Job Summary
Assist the teacher with planning, organizing, and evaluating instructional activities; developing classroom procedures; preparing necessary materials; and presenting instructional activities as directed. Participate in activities to improve the total school program and ensure a safe, healthful environment. Assist students with understanding rules, maintaining cleanliness, and serving as a positive role model. Perform physical functions including lifting and transferring students, feeding those who cannot feed themselves, and providing personal hygiene assistance. Conduct self as a positive role model and support organizational core values. Obtain a Commercial Driver's License when requested for school bus driving. Provide CPR when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 24 semester hours completed in any discipline
- Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children
- Ability to solve minor problems
- Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions
- College transcript showing a degree was earned
- College transcript showing at least 48 or more college level courses completed
- College transcript showing at least 24 or more college level courses completed plus Work Keys Assessments with passing scores
- Workplace Documents (Reading) score of 4 or better
- Business Writing score of 3 or better
- Applied Mathematics score of 4 or better
- Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) when requested
- Must be able to provide CPR when necessary
- Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required
