Job Summary
Assist the teacher with planning, organizing, and evaluating instructional activities; develop classroom procedures; prepare necessary materials; and present instructional activities as directed. Support students by increasing their confidence, self-esteem, and independence while attending to their physical and personal care needs. Help students who have difficulty communicating and support them in social activities throughout the total school program. Maintain confidentiality standards, participate in staff development, and serve as a positive role model for children, parents, teachers, and other professionals. Provide physical assistance including lifting, transferring, and feeding students with disabilities, and ensure safety through CPR/First Aid readiness.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 24+ college level semester hours completed
- Approved Work Keys Assessments
- College transcript showing a degree was earned
- College transcript showing at least 48 or more college level courses completed
- College transcript showing at least 24 or more college level courses completed
- Work Keys Assessments with passing scores in Workplace Documents (Reading) with a score of 4 or better
- Work Keys Assessments with passing scores in Business Writing with a score of 3 or better
- Work Keys Assessments with passing scores in Applied Mathematics with a score of 4 or better
- Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies
