Job Summary
Self-Contained Teacher Assistant in an Exceptional Children’s Program assists the teacher with planning, organizing, and evaluating instructional activities; helps develop classroom procedures; prepares materials; presents activities; supports safety and healthful environments; demonstrates clerical/technical skills; helps students understand rules; maintains cleanliness; serves as a positive role model and team player; supports organizational core values; involves physical tasks such as lifting and assisting students, and may require obtaining a CDL when requested; requires documentation such as college transcripts and Work Keys assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 24 semester hours completed in any discipline with passing Work Keys Assessments
- Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children
- Ability to solve minor problems and follow detailed written and oral instructions
