Job Summary
Provide academic assistance through group and individualized instruction while monitoring student behavior and maintaining classroom discipline. Prepare instructional materials, arrange classroom equipment, and serve as a proctor during testing. Drive a school bus when called upon, completing pre- and post-trip inspections and adhering to traffic regulations. Report student progress, attendance, and discipline issues to teachers and administration. Maintain a valid North Carolina Driver's License and obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) as required. Perform other duties as assigned to support the teaching-learning process.
Required Qualifications
- College transcript showing a degree was earned
- College transcript showing at least 48 or more college level courses completed
- College transcript showing at least 24 or more college level courses completed plus WorkKeys Assessment with passing scores in these three areas: (1) Workplace Documents (Reading) – score of 4 or better, (2) Business Writing – score of 3 or better, and (3) Applied Mathematics – score of 4 or better

- Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children
- Ability to solve minor problems and follow detailed written and oral instructions
- Must obtain and maintain a CDL Bus license and drive a bus when called upon to do so
- Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies
- Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License
- Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) when requested, for purposes of driving a school bus
- Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders
- Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, standing, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion
