Job Summary
Assist in the teaching-learning process by providing academic and instructional support, including group and individualized instruction, classroom supervision, and behavior management. Duties include preparing visual aids, proctoring tests, recording attendance and health data, maintaining discipline, and assisting with bus transportation when needed. Must obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to drive a school bus; strong emphasis on following detailed instructions, working with children, and collaborating with teachers and administration.
Required Qualifications
- Resume and one of the following to qualify: (a) College transcript showing a degree earned; (b) College transcript showing at least 48 college-level courses completed; (c) College transcript showing at least 24 college-level courses completed plus WorkKeys Assessment with passing scores in Workplace Documents (4+), Business Writing (3+), and Applied Mathematics (4+); or link to WorkKeys Assessments; Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children; Ability to solve minor problems and follow detailed written and oral instructions; Must obtain and maintain a CDL Bus license and drive a bus when called upon to do so; Reports to Principal and Assigned Teacher(s); Duties include Academic Assistance, Instructional Support, and Student Behavior Monitoring; Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspection; Drives bus when needed; Maintains bus route schedule; Background check required; North Carolina Driver's License required; CDL required when requested; Physical ability to perform life operational functions; Must be able to communicate with parents, staff, and community; Push/pull, lift, kneel, sit, stand, etc.
