26-27 Director of Elementary Special Services

Job Summary
Lead the district's Elementary Special Services program, providing leadership to establish and improve programs, ensure compliance with special education requirements, evaluate and adjust existing programs, serve as a district spokesperson for special education, address questions from teachers and principals, deliver staff development, stay current on developments in special education and instruction, assist staff with implementing new instructional ideas, conduct formal observations and evaluations of district staff, foster leadership and collaboration among staff and academics, develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs (including behavior intervention plans) under IDEA, participate in eligibility meetings, coordinate Elementary Extended School Year, and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate
- Certification in Educational Administration
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education
- Master's degree in Educational Administration or related area
- Minimum of five years teaching experience
- Minimum of three years in a special education setting (preferred)
- Administrative experience preferred
