Job Summary
Lead Worker Custodian IV overseeing a group of custodial staff in cleaning school buildings; assists the principal in scheduling daily custodial work and in recognizing and directing maintenance needs. Performs as a working supervisor, conducts on-the-job in-service training, and leads heavy manual cleaning tasks including HVAC system care, floor stripping/mopping/waxing/buffing, window and restroom maintenance, waste removal, and grounds care; conducts spot inspections and participates in ongoing training to improve performance. Requires supervisory abilities, physical strength for heavy tasks, ability to read/write, and flexibility in hours.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate preferred
- Two years of experience in housekeeping or equivalent training
- Ability to supervise and work with others
- General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
- Experience with school HVAC system operations and maintenance
- Must be able to perform heavy manual tasks
- Must possess supervisory, organizational, and follow-up skills
