Job Summary
Perform recurring cleaning tasks including sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing, and spray buffing school buildings. Wash windows, vacuums carpets, spot cleans walls, and clean restrooms while replenishing supplies and replacing light bulbs. Maintain building grounds by cutting grass, edging walkways, and caring for shrubbery. Transport authorized students on school bus routes when called upon, completing pre- and post-trip inspections and maintaining route schedules. Report damages, repairs, and student discipline issues to supervisors. Attend scheduled seminars and training activities to improve job efficiency and skills.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work effectively with other people
- Ability to read and write
- General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
- General knowledge of school heating system operation and maintenance
- Possess physical strength sufficient to perform assigned duties
- Must obtain and maintain a CDL Bus license
- Must be able to perform medium/heavy lifting exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or to 25 pounds of force constantly to move object
- Must be able to climb ladder and be capable of traveling through needed crawlspace area
- Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required
- Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License
- Applicants must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) when requested for purposes of driving a school bus
