Job Summary
Custodian I (10 months) performs cleaning duties in school buildings under supervision, including stripping, sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing, dusting, window and fixture cleaning, restroom replenishment, waste disposal, and light landscaping tasks. Requires CDL bus license and ability to drive a bus when needed; maintains safety, reports damages, adheres to schedules, and participates in training to improve efficiency and knowledge. Must pass background checks, possess a NC driver’s license, and obtain CDL when requested. Physical ability for lifting and climbing, and ability to work as part of a team; follows local/state safety regulations and bus route scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- Must obtain and maintain CDL Bus license and drive a bus when called upon to do so
- Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required
- Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License
- Applicants must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) when requested for purposes of driving a school bus
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work effectively with other people
- Ability to read and write
- General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
- Physically capable of lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently
- Attends seminars and workshops and completes training activities as required
