Job Summary
Custodian I position (10 months) performing cleaning duties in school facilities under supervision. Responsibilities include stripping, sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing, spray buffing, window washing, dusting furniture, restroom cleaning, replenishing supplies, reporting damages, and coordinating with supervisors to maintain cleanliness. Must drive a bus when required and hold/obtain a North Carolina CDL. Requires ability to lift up to 100 pounds intermittently, climb ladders, and travel through areas as needed. Background check and valid NC driver’s license are required; CDL may be required for bus duties. Emphasizes teamwork, adherence to safety, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Must obtain and maintain a CDL Bus license and drive a bus when called upon to do so
- Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required
- Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License
- Applicants must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) when requested for purposes of driving a school bus
- Must be able to perform medium/heavy lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 25 pounds constantly
- Possess physical strength sufficient to perform assigned duties
- Duties involve cleaning and custodial tasks in school buildings
