Job Summary
RJC Assistant supports programs to reduce school violence, promotes character education, and serves as a positive role model. Responsibilities include high visibility in the building, collaboration with the school resource officer, coordinating staff development for faculty, monitoring student behavior and developing interventions, delivering classroom presentations, engaging parents and the community as on-site advocates, serving on Student Services and School Crisis Teams, assisting administrative staff with security, participating in remediation and attendance programs, and preparing accountability reports. The role requires CDL bus driving when needed, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining bus routes, and upholding safety regulations. It also entails teamwork, alignment with organizational values, and ongoing professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 48 semester hours or associate’s degree in any discipline
- Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children
- Ability to solve minor problems and follow detailed written and oral instructions
- Must obtain and maintain a CDL Bus license and drive a bus when called upon to do so
- Resume and one of the following to qualify: College transcript showing a degree earned; 48+ college-level courses; 24+ college-level courses plus Work Keys assessments (Reading 4+, Writing 3+, Math 4+)
