Job Summary
Provide academic assistance by delivering group and individualized instruction, correcting student work, and reporting progress to teachers. Prepare classroom materials, arrange furnishings, and serve as a proctor during testing while maintaining detailed records of attendance, behavior, and health data. Monitor student behavior in classrooms and other locations, resolve conflicts, and enforce discipline through approved methods. When required, obtain and maintain a CDL bus license to drive school buses, complete pre- and post-trip inspections, adhere to traffic regulations, and transport authorized students only to designated stops.
Required Qualifications
- College transcript showing a degree was earned
- College transcript showing at least 48 or more college level courses completed
- College transcript showing at least 24 or more college level courses completed plus WorkKeys Assessment with passing scores in these three areas: (1) Workplace Documents (Reading) – score of 4 or better, (2) Business Writing – score of 3 or better, and (3) Applied Mathematics – score of 4 or better

- Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children
- Ability to solve minor problems and follow detailed written and oral instructions
- Must obtain and maintain a CDL Bus license and drive a bus when called upon to do so
- Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) when requested, for purposes of driving a school bus
- Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders
- Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, standing, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion
- Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required
- Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License
