Job Summary
Assist with practices by emphasizing teamwork, skill development, rule learning, and student-athlete improvement. Engage in academic monitoring with teachers and counselors while supervising athletes before, during, and after practices and contests. Help assume responsibility for equipment care and inventory, follow through on required paperwork including rosters and insurance forms, and provide information for transportation and game management. Conduct the team and self ethically, exemplifying the highest standards of sportsmanship. Promote student-athlete accomplishments academically and athletically while continuing professional growth through clinics and publications. This role supports the school's athletic program and aligns with district goals, requiring knowledge of the sport and completion of MSHSAA/NFHS coaching courses.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of particular sport (philosophy & coaching)
- Must successfully complete the MSHSAA /NFHS Coaching Principles Course and Sports First Aid Courses
- A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept
- Working knowledge of all collegiate eligibility center regulations
- Ability to sit
