Job Summary
Assistant Band Director duties include teaching students under the Mississippi Framework and Common Core Curriculum, developing and implementing curriculum plans, preparing differentiated lessons, using varied instructional strategies, assessing student learning, collaborating with staff to meet goals, integrating technology, supervising extracurricular activities, maintaining student records, and communicating with parents. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a valid Mississippi teaching certificate with endorsements 165/166/167; 205-day contract in Vicksburg, MS. Salary aligned with teacher schedule. Proficiency in instructional planning, assessment, and classroom management is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Possession of (or eligible for) a valid regular Mississippi teaching certificate with an endorsement in 165, 166, or 167
