Job Summary
Direct and manage the agricultural science program for the assigned campus, overseeing the SAEP and serving as advisor to the local FFA chapter. Plan and deliver instructional activities and supervise staff, volunteers, and extracurriculars related to agricultural science, including coordinating leadership, citizenship, and competitive activities at local, regional, and state levels. Collaborate with special education to modify curricula as needed, assess student learning styles, develop and implement lessons aligned with TEA requirements, and use technology to strengthen teaching and learning. Ensure program facilities and equipment are maintained, manage budget and inventory, and maintain professional communication with students, parents, colleagues, and the community. The role includes planning, supervising teacher aides/volunteers, supervising off-campus activities, and supporting district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in agricultural science
- Experience: Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
- Supervise SAEP and advise local FFA chapter
- Plan and deliver instruction following district curriculum and TEA guidelines
- Ability to plan and implement lesson plans reflecting diverse learner needs
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
