Job Summary
Senior Property Accountant responsible for managing capital projects, PPE, asset retirement obligations, depreciation and depletion of oil and gas properties, impairment, reserves reporting, inventory and acquisitions/divestitures. Performs monthly/quarterly close, prepares internal and external financial deliverables, executes ad hoc analyses for executives and cross-functional teams, and supports audits. Requires SAP proficiency, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex accounting transactions for operations teams while maintaining confidentiality and contributing to continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Five years minimum experience in oil and gas industry, specifically Property Accounting
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with SAP
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet reporting deadlines
- Ability to translate financial information for varied audiences
- Public accounting experience preferred
