Job Summary
Professional in a crisis-oriented mental health/substance abuse team providing direct and indirect services, crisis intervention, and potential case management to consumers with a chronic mental illness and possible co-occurring issues. Responsible for coordinating services, making referrals to community resources and documenting case activities, with duties including early crisis intervention planning, outreach to clients with multiple needs, and maintaining program/sub-unit operations in alignment with CMHA-CEI policies and mission. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field, at least one year of relevant experience, strong communication skills, computer literacy, and license/transportation considerations (Michigan driver’s license may be required) including background checks and pre-employment screenings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, Psychology, or related field is required
- A minimum of one year of professional experience in the area of assignment is required
- Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license may be required
- Must have access to reliable means of transportation for job-related use
- Background verification, credentialing procedures (including Michigan State Police clearance check, Medicaid/Medicare verification, driving record verification, educational background check, and work history verification) and pre-employment drug screen
- Handle with Care Behavior Management techniques knowledge may be required
- Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form
- Proficiency with computers
