Job Summary

The Peer Recovery Coach will work under the supervision of the Coordinator of Crisis Services to provide support for individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders accessing CMHA-CEI’s Crisis Services. Responsibilities include mentoring, advocacy, and facilitating access to recovery services while promoting long-term recovery. Required qualifications consist of specific certifications, experience in recovery, and effective communication skills. This is a full-time position with specific hours and a starting salary range of $20.82 to $22.47 per hour.

Required Qualifications

  • Possession of a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Two continuous years in recovery from addiction(s) with experience navigating treatment services and/or prevention
  • Experience receiving publicly funded treatment and recovery services for addiction
  • One year of experience interacting with people with substance use disorder
  • MDHHS Peer Recovery Coach certification or MCBAP Certified Peer Recovery Mentor certification
  • Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both orally and in writing
  • Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job-related use

Additional Requirements

  • Employment offers contingent upon criminal background check, physical exam, and verification of Michigan driving record
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam annually
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen
