Job Summary
The Peer Recovery Coach will work under the supervision of the Coordinator of Crisis Services to provide support for individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders accessing CMHA-CEI’s Crisis Services. Responsibilities include mentoring, advocacy, and facilitating access to recovery services while promoting long-term recovery. Required qualifications consist of specific certifications, experience in recovery, and effective communication skills. This is a full-time position with specific hours and a starting salary range of $20.82 to $22.47 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Two continuous years in recovery from addiction(s) with experience navigating treatment services and/or prevention
- Experience receiving publicly funded treatment and recovery services for addiction
- One year of experience interacting with people with substance use disorder
- MDHHS Peer Recovery Coach certification or MCBAP Certified Peer Recovery Mentor certification
- Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both orally and in writing
- Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job-related use
Additional Requirements
- Employment offers contingent upon criminal background check, physical exam, and verification of Michigan driving record
- Must be able to pass a physical exam annually
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen
