Job Summary
Security Officer responsibilities include maintaining a safe and orderly building environment, screening individuals entering the building, discouraging violence, and monitoring activity. The role supports the program/sub-unit in alignment with CMHA-CEI policies, with a focus on safety and crisis intervention when needed. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift 50 pounds, CPR/First Aid certification updates, a valid Michigan driver's license, and successful completion of background checks and pre-employment screenings. Works 40 hours weekly on night and weekend shifts in Lansing, MI, with shift incentives for certain hours.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of a high school diploma or GED is required
- Must be able to provide crisis intervention as needed (Therapeutic Options A & Therapeutic Options B on an Emergency basis)
- Must be physically able to lift and transfer consumers according to agency policies/procedures
- Must be able to lift, transport and/or physically manage consumers that vary in weight and size, at least 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Must be able to recertify in CPR/First Aid each year following employment
- Possession of a valid Michigan Driver's License and access to reliable transportation for job-related use is required
- May be required to perform job functions at other CMHA-CEI work sites
- Employment offers contingent upon background verification and credentialing, pre-employment physical, and pre-employment drug screen
