Job Summary
As a Mental Health Therapist at Family Guidance Services, you will engage in family therapy, individual therapy, and case management for children with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) and their families. This role involves a caseload of 12-15 families, providing opportunities for training in evidence-based treatments, weekly supervision, and collaboration with clinical teams. The position requires a Master's Degree in a relevant field, a State of Michigan credential, and experience with SED, along with effective communication skills and reliable transportation. Candidates must also be prepared to work some evening hours.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field
- Possession of an appropriate State of Michigan credential
- One year of experience in the examination, evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents with Severe Emotional Disturbance
- Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally
- Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
