Job Summary
Provide Community Living Supports and Respite Care for youth with serious emotional disturbance in family homes and the tri-county community. Work with youth up to age 18 to develop activities of daily living skills, communication, socialization, and leisure participation. Transport youth consumers in your personal vehicle within the tri-county area. Model, teach, and reinforce behavior expectations using structure, consistency, and routine while supporting emotion regulation and conflict resolution. Complete necessary documentation, maintain accurate records using basic computer software, and communicate effectively in oral and written form. This part-time role requires 22-30 hours per week across weekdays and weekends. Candidates must possess a valid Michigan driver's license, reliable transportation, and CPR/First Aid certification.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School diploma or G.E.D.
- A minimum of six months' experience with emotionally impaired children and families
- Expectation of a varied schedule to include afternoon, evening, and weekend hours
- Person must be able to work cooperatively with others
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to re-certify in CPR/First Aide each year following employment
- Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license
- Access to reliable transportation for job related use
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
