Job Summary
Provide Basic Life Support and Primary Care Paramedic procedures for non-emergent patient transport between medical facilities in the Edmonton Inter-Facility Transfer Service. Assist mobility-challenged patients using walkers, wheelchairs, or stretchers, while completing and submitting patient care reports. Maintain vehicle cleanliness, equipment, and supply stock, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals. Transport admitted patients to testing or treatment facilities within the Central Zone, adhering to a Monday-through-Friday schedule with peak car hours.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited PCP program
- Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) through Heart and Stroke Foundation
- Valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's license
- Abstract indicating no serious traffic safety violations
- Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test taken no more than six months prior to the start date
- Current Certified Vulnerable Sector Check
