Job Summary
Directs and manages staff in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical power and utility systems to ensure operational safety and comfort. Responsibilities include identifying electrical requirements by liaising with management and staff, scheduling maintenance and repairs to ensure production operations, and directing electrical operations to enforce policies and procedures. Ideal candidates will possess extensive experience in troubleshooting electrical systems, both AC and DC, and have a strong understanding of electrical schematics. A valid Alaska Electrical Journeyman’s license is required, alongside the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and sometimes challenging environment.
Required Qualifications
- Eight (8) years minimum experience required in oil and gas plant and field electrical maintenance
- Specialized knowledge of high voltage electricity, power stations, switch gear, and safety training
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings
- Required working knowledge of Program Logic Controllers (PLC) and flow computers
- Ability to read and understand Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)
- Working knowledge of variable speed drives for electrical motors
- Working knowledge of electronic or pneumatic control valves
- Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
- Ability to accurately solve problems
- Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.)
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, and the public
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities
Additional Requirements
- Able to travel and may be required to stay overnight for certain tasks and projects
