Job Summary
PT Assistant Manager responsible for executing all operational, merchandising and managerial functions during their shift, and serving as manager-on-duty in the Store Manager’s absence. Responsibilities include driving sales to exceed targets, assisting in evaluating and improving business results, scheduling grassroots events, merchandising displays, marketing initiatives, customer experience and ensuring store operations follow policy. Requires leadership to supervise Sales Associates, strong communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency with POS systems, retail math, scheduling flexibility including holidays/weekends, and the ability to lift 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 – 2 years prior retail experience
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to apply retail math principles
- Excellent computer skills and ability to use a POS system
- High level of initiative and accountability
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple initiatives
- Detail oriented; consistently meets deadlines
- Ability to lift 30 lbs, pushing, pulling, bending and stretching frequently
- Stand for periods of 8 – 10 hours a day
- Use ladders or other equipment, for the purpose of store and merchandising maintenance
- Work a flexible schedule to include some holidays, most weekends and/or late evenings
- Minimal travel may be required
