Job Summary
Provides referrals, support, guidance, and problem solving to residents and crisis line callers. Assists clients to identify and understand issues of abuse in intimate partner relationships. Responsible for implementation and ongoing service delivery of residential programs. Delivers short-term group or individual counselling, assesses needs and risks, orients residents to services, and develops action plans. Plans, conducts, and evaluates counselling sessions; participates in case management meetings; facilitates life-skills training; advocates with community service providers; maintains client records and reports; collaborates with staff to manage the household and back-up schedules; requires union membership and Standard First Aid; Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field and one year of related experience; position supports essential services in crisis settings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field in human services and minimum of one-year recent related work in a similar environment OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience; direct program delivery experience in the community social services sector; bona fide requirement for self-identified women and non-binary applicants.
