Job Summary
Safely navigate the Cumberland River on designated passenger vessel routes while enforcing USCG regulations and maritime laws. Conduct pre-cruise safety checks, deliver safety briefings, and manage emergencies with calm authority. Supervise deckhands and ensure seamless operations including docking, turnover, and equipment monitoring. Welcome guests aboard and foster a friendly atmosphere through direct engagement. Maintain vessel equipment standards and report issues to management. Requires a valid USCG Inland Waters Captain's License (25GT+), physical stamina, and availability for rotating shifts including holidays. Competitive pay with a significant tipping pool.
Required Qualifications
- Valid USCG Inland Waters Captain's License (25GT or greater)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Availability for rotating day, evening, and weekend shifts, including holiday weekends
- Pass a background check and a pre-employment drug test (per USCG regulations)
- If hired, you must obtain an AED/CPR certification
- Marine Operations - understanding of maritime laws
