Job Summary
Bechtel seeks a Civil/Structural Designer to develop 2-D/3-D CAD models for civil engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage, and road design. You will originate and check civil site deliverables, interpret and verify industry standards, report design quantities, and participate in project design/model reviews and constructability reviews. You will review and coordinate technical documents with/from other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction. Requires a BS in a related field (or AA/AS with equivalent experience) and hands-on experience with AutoCAD and Civil3D, plus familiarity with relevant codes (AASHTO, ASTM, ACI, FHWA, MUTCD, WBDG UFC). Preference for experience in nuclear-quality/sitework, earthwork, roadway, and drainage; and an AA in civil engineering or engineering technology. US citizenship required. Required Qualifications
- BS degree in a related field with 2-5 years of related design experience or AA/AS degree with 4-7 years of related design experience. In lieu of a degree, 6-9 years of related design experience.
- Experience in the use of AutoCAD and Civil3D.
- Minimum Qualifications: Work experience should emphasize Civil Site design of heavy industrial type facilities.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiar with AASHTHO, ASTM, ACI, ASTM, FHWA, MUTCD and WBDG UFC codes.
Desired Qualifications
- BS degree in a related field OR AA/AS with additional years of related design experience

- Ability to originate and check civil site deliverables including drawings and 3-D models
- Strong communication and coordination skills across engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction
- U.S. Citizenship
- Preference for sitework, earthwork, roadway and drainage experience in nuclear quality and safety environments
- AA in civil engineering or engineering technology (preferred)
- Understanding of construction materials and construction techniques
- Ability to interpret standards and verify project deliverables
- Experience with heavy industrial facilities civil site design
