Job Summary
Oversee the site, staff, and students while ensuring their safety and well-being. Maintain site records, lead teachers and program counselors, and communicate effectively with school staff, the principal, and parents. Plan and lead monthly parent meetings and events, and collect data regarding student progress. Work from the end of the school day through 6:00 pm Monday through Friday, with additional coverage on select evenings and weekends. This role requires reliability, self-motivation, and the ability to work in excess of a 20-hour week with irregular hours. The team serves a diverse community, and proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Must be reliable, self-motivated and a good role model
- Ability to work in excess of a 20-hour week with irregular work hours
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time
- Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids
- Ability to lift and carry food and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds
- Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time
- Bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking
- Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
- Ability to view/enter data for long periods of time
- NC Teaching Certification in reading, math
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and one to two years related experience or training
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and cloud technology
- Experience working with children and a diverse community
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
