Job Summary
Deliver high-quality, standards-aligned academic instruction in core subject areas including literacy and mathematics to students in after-school programming. Implement project-based learning, enrichment activities, and differentiated instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs while providing targeted academic interventions and homework assistance. Collaborate with school-day teachers and program staff to align instruction with identified student needs and curriculum priorities, and monitor student progress through data collection and reporting. Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that supports positive behavior and student engagement, while engaging families through communication efforts to strengthen home-school connections. Participate in program planning, staff meetings, and professional development to ensure fidelity to the 21st CCLC model and support continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Valid State Teaching Certification required (Elementary or relevant content area)
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience in a school or educational setting
- Demonstrated ability to deliver standards-aligned instruction and differentiate learning for diverse student populations
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to create a positive, student-centered learning environment
- Ability to successfully complete a Level 2 background check and drug screening
- Candidates must be dependable, organized, and able to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families
- Monday through Friday (After-School Programming)
- After-school hours: Approximately 3 hours per day
- Program schedule aligns with the 21st CCLC calendar and school site needs
- After-school hours: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Summer programming hours may vary based on site needs
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred
- CPR and First Aid Certification preferred or willingness to obtain
