Job Summary
Plan and implement after-school academic activities within budget constraints while preparing monthly reports on attendance and participation. Lead classroom operations by enforcing safety policies, managing participant conduct, and identifying individualized guidance strategies based on intake data. Coordinate special events, field trips, and opportunities for participant involvement in external educational programs. Assist the Site Director with referrals, new program offerings, and community resource identification. Maintain facility cleanliness and equipment safety while representing club policies to parents and community members. Work daily afternoon and evening hours Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend availability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
- teaching credentials
- At least three years' experience planning and implementing programs for youth
- Knowledge of youth development
- ability to motivate and provide guidance to youth
- demonstrated caring and respect exhibited toward participants
- Ability to relate to the general public, parents and Club participants in a friendly, positive, and professional manner
- Demonstrated ability to convey Boys & Girls Club policies and procedures to participants
- ability to implement appropriate guidance and discipline policies
- Ability to organize and supervise participants to maintain a safe and welcoming environment
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated enthusiasm, energy and commitment
- Demonstrated ability to creatively plan, coordinate, organize and implement quality classroom lessons and activities
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other departments/organizations
- Demonstrated ability to train teaching assistants and volunteers
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, in classroom settings to students and mentors and to parents
- Ability to resolve classroom conflicts and problems
- Demonstrated ability to control expenses and creatively use resources
- Demonstrated ability to persuasively promote and deliver curriculum and activities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision
- Excellent human relations skills
