Job Summary
Group Leaders facilitate engaging after-school programming for 10-15 elementary students, focusing on academic support and personal growth in a safe environment. They lead activities in areas such as Arts, STEM, and Social-Emotional Learning. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, supervising student groups, managing transitions between activities, and assisting with documentation for compliance. Applicants are expected to have a High School Diploma, relevant experience in youth settings, and skills in communication and student management.
Required Qualifications
- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum age 18, with at least one year of college or post-high school experience
- 2 years + of experience working with school-aged children (13 and under) in educational or youth development settings
- Demonstrated interest in working with elementary and/or middle school students
- Ability to engage students while maintaining professional boundaries
- Commitment to completing required SACC training and documentation
Desired Qualifications
- Background in education, youth development, recreation, arts, or social services
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to effectively manage student groups
