Job Summary
Lead the deli department to achieve metric goals while adhering to safety, sanitation, and company policies. Execute daily operations including product ordering, merchandising, shrink control, and date rotation. Manage staff through coaching and training, directing task assignments and enforcing procedures for food safety, inventory, and production. Prepare and package deli cuts, inspect deliveries for cold chain integrity, and maintain updated displays to maximize sales. Rotate between stores and other store areas as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One year of previous experience hot and cold deli production including using hand tools and power equipment
- Proficiency in basic math skills
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills
- Must be dependable
- Must be flexible
- Willingness to work in other areas of the store as needed with little or no advance notice
- Excellent customer service skills
- Teamwork skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Must adhere to uniform dress code
- Must be able to work in either hot or cold conditions
- Ability to reach, bend, twist, balance, lift and transport various objects weighing up to 30 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift
- Ability to move heavy product with assistance
- Ability to stand, walk and / or move about for extended periods of time
- Ability to push, pull, grasp for extended periods of time
