Job Summary
The Meat Wrapper is responsible for packaging, wrapping, labeling, and merchandising meat products in accordance with company policies. Key responsibilities include ensuring proper rotation and storage of meat items, maintaining sanitation standards, and assisting with product ordering. The role requires effective communication skills, basic math proficiency, and a customer service orientation. Ideal candidates are dependable, flexible, and able to work in other areas of the store as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Proficiency in basic math skills required, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English
- Excellent customer service, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Must adhere to a uniform dress code
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in grocery perishable department or meat wrapping preferred
- Experience safely using manual pallet jacks, hand tools and power equipment, including knives and slicers preferred
- Language proficiency in Spanish or other languages are a plus in certain locations
