Job Summary
Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling studies for dams, reservoirs, levees, and stormwater projects using surveys, LiDAR, GIS, CAD, and software like HEC-RAS and StormWise. Perform data development, research local regulatory requirements, define design discharge rates, and prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Support project permitting through documentation, report writing, and field investigations while maintaining records and attending meetings under the supervision of a Professional Engineer. This internship provides hands-on experience within Hanson's Water Resources discipline, an award-winning employee-owned firm specializing in engineering and planning since 1954.
Required Qualifications
- Interns must be actively enrolled in a relevant field of study such as Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or Coastal Engineering
- The ideal candidate, at minimum, will have successfully completed their sophomore or junior year
- The ideal candidate, at minimum, will be actively enrolled in an accredited 4-year college or university
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license
