Job Summary
Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling studies for dams, reservoirs, levees, and stormwater projects using surveys, LiDAR, GIS, CAD, and software like HEC-RAS and ArcMAP. Perform data development, research local regulatory requirements, and calculate design discharge rates while documenting quality assurance and preparing plans, designs, and cost estimates. Assist with field investigations, survey work, and permitting application development under the supervision of a Professional Engineer. Report writing and meeting attendance are required to support project deliverables. This internship is available in Chicago, Harlingen, Sarasota, or Springfield, with hourly compensation ranging from $21 to $40 depending on academic level.
Required Qualifications
- Interns must be actively enrolled in a relevant field of study such as Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or Coastal Engineering
- The ideal candidate, at minimum, will have successfully completed their sophomore or junior year
- The ideal candidate, at minimum, will be actively enrolled in an accredited 4-year college or university
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license
